the Acro wins?

I came home from work tonight and noticed that an acro frag had come loose and fell onto my orange monti cap. I put the acro frag back, and it looks good, but the monti looks like it has some receeding tissue where the acro had landed.

Any suggestions?

It will most likley recover in time.

Glad to hear it. That acro is getting a some extra epoxy.

Thanks.

Be careful with the montipora. I had an red frag of an montipora plate accidently fall into my hydrophora. A few days later, it first got jelly and then completely rtned. I would trim off the damaged portion and hope for the best. Don't wait like I did and lose the entire frag. It was a new frag and was showing some growth but I had not glued it down. So I was very disappointed in losing it. My hydrophora is doing great- he wasn't fazed a bit.

a hyndnophora would be expected to kill a monti, they are the most aggresive coral imo. ive had montis and acros tangle, the monti's always lose, but they also always recover and regrow over the dead part.

It would be very hard to frag the monti. As the damaged portion is in the very center of the frag. If the damage was one of the edges I would frag it, but since it is in the center, wait and see.

The are two peices to the colony, without damge to the other peice, I will watch the damaged frag and see how it does.
