Monti Cap Question

My Monti Cap has turned white on one corner where an encrusting gorgonia was brushing against it.

I moved it, but do I now just let it be or should I break off the white part?

I would let it be in most cases with mine they have either come back or encrusted back over that portion. If it gets worse break off the bad part and should be fine

it should come back

this is ideal conditions

if you break it off than it will take longer to grow back compaired to the tissue growing over the dead part

I had a frilly mushroom cover up a portion of my monti cap. I moved it once I noticed it. it was white where it had been covered, but with in a few days color had returned.
