Ok I want to run this by you..I have read that browning on sps corals occurs when they are not getting enough light. My lighting setup on my 24gallon nano is currently a AI sol blue. I have been steadily increasing the intensities of the LEDs for the past 2-3 months and now have a peak output of 55% with the lights 9-10 over the water line. The monti used to be directly below the lights in the center of the tank and the intensity of the lights at that point were at 44%. I have since moved the big rock it was on over to the left side of the tank since when it started to grow it would block light from getting to the lower corals in the tank. Since this move the light intensity over 2 weeks has now increased to 55% for 2 hours a day. It now seems to be so brown spots on the top of the cap right in the center. At first they were small, but now they have grown a little. The new spot it is in also does get more direct flow from my mp10. I am not sure if this could be from the mp10, increasing the lights, moving it and now it wants more lighting since its not sitting directly under the center of the AI's anymore.

Last parameters were
Temp 78.5
Salinity 1.025
Calcium 480
Phosphates .02
Magnesium 1500 <---This is high, lower the dosing on the new pump
Ammonia 0
Alkalinity 9.8
Ph 8.03

Here is a picture of the monti up close, I will get a better shot once the batter is charged. This is the point and shoot, also included is a full tank to show where it is located currently.

I wouldn't rule out chemicals, that's exactly how my montis looked when I was having trouble with salt. A few big water changes with a different brand (IO) fixed things right up.

I did change salt mix this past water change which was 2 weeks ago. I went from instant ocean reef crystal to H2Ocean pro. Wonder if this is the cause..
