I had a BAD Alk swing about a month and half ago and lost a bunch of SPS.

I have a monti that lost all its color and really looks bad, but still has polyps that are out and very green. Will the cap regain its color?

Also, the other SPS that are recovering are very browned out.

Is this due to the stress of the swing or are my Nitrate/Phosphate to high.

Both test 0, API for Nitrate and Salifret for Phosphate, also run GFO.

All other params are good

keep kh and ca stable for a while and see how it goes.

if still brown or if you have algae growth then nutrition.

many times, when a swing occurs, the SPS stop EATing as much as they did before meaning the "FOOD" is left on water column which can increase nutritions ... so keeping parameters stable does lower nutritions in a way as well ... via growth of corals.

Will coraline algae grow if your Po4/No3 is out of wack?

Coraline is growing like crazy, SPS not so much.
