Monti nudi question

After adding a monti frag last year, I started having a problem with it, and my other monti's. Though I never actually saw them, I suspect the problem was nudi's. Though I tried to fight them off, I eventually lost. My question is: I have not had any monti species in the tank for over six months. Is it safe to start adding them again? Without monti's to feed on, will the nudi's die off?

i waited 8 months, and have now had montis for over 2 years with nothing reoccuring. i heard 6 months minimum. i also started them on a frag rack not on the rock, just to easily watch and remove is any issues start
