Monti Nudibranchs

I use one of those Sailfert scoops and I dose one scoop to 1 cup of tank water. This kills them within 3 minutes. I have left them in there up to 7 minutes. I then rinse/swich them in another container of tank water.

I have multiple colored cap all doing well. No color loss from the dips. I have dipped as close as 3 days apart. Hispida does not even close its polyps during the dip. Superman and Rainbow do not do as well and cannot take treatments close together. YMMV

I have been doing this a LONG time. I can't seem to find eggs which leads me to believe they will lay on rock. I agree with the statement if you get these you are screwed. I am a slave to keeping them at bay in my tank.

I used to have 3 wrasses that did the job for me but when I removed the fish, the Nudis got out of control again.

thanks... there are treatments all over the place. I have read of Leviasomole treatments for as long as 6 hours!!. your dose sounds heavy . good for a initial dip though. Have you left your tank without montis for any length of time to see if you can break the life cycle??

That 6 hour treatment is for the AEFW I think.

My dose is heavy but it kills them ultra fast! The 3 minutes was a stretch and to me getting the coral out of the dip quickly is the key. I am sure you could use less.

Although this treatment has worked well for me, I know that growth and color would be better if I did not have the Nuid's.

Give me red bugs anyday!!!!!

I guess I should try the FW EXit and see if I have luck with that. Then possibly I could do an in tank treatment.....????.....

I read somewhere where a guy had them, let them kill off all his montis. Broke the tank down. Moved it and set it back up and he still had them when he introduced a cap that was nudi free.

Kirstenk....how long have you been doing the dips with Levasole? Judging by your comments you have not eradicated them with the levasole treatment thus far?

It is mentioned in the Reef Aquarium Volume 3, but at low doses with the AEFW's returning. I seem to have killed all of the AEFW's (never saw one after the first treatment), but somehow killed a bunch of acros, too. I ran four treatments at a little over the recommended dosage (dosed for 20 gallon, but there was only really 15 gallons of water volume). Many of the corals have been replaced, so all is good again;).

Months! I cannot locate eggs so I always have nudis to some degree. :(
