Monti placement in tank

Got a frag of the hulk and a rainbow I believe...came from a tank with 250 w 10k's ushios. I have 2 250 w 12k coralvues (outsides) and a 400 w coralvue 12k (center). At the present they are acclimitizing at the bottom of the tank under the 400w, they have been there for a week, (last saturday), and are looking good. Shall I move them up slowly on the rocks?....one week intervals?...two week?....under the 400 or under the 250?

trying to research more and more of what they like but am curious to see everyones opinions.
Thanks in advance

Hey Roy,

I'm back and just read your PM. I made the frag rack from scrap acrylic. I just made the one to see how it would do.

Since you already have them under the 400 you may as well keep them there and move them up slowly. One thing I noticed in my tank was that once I moved them out of the more intense lighting onto the frag rack, they started to show more base purple and less green polyp. I thought they actually look better on the rack than where they are growing on the rocks.

PS.. I beleive the red monti to be a Superman

I couldnt remember which it was..thanks Roland. Hope the Keys were awesome for ya. Did the new/old boat do well?.

As far as placement, everything I read and learned say hi light/hi flow so was thinking like u said....400w and inching them up....6 inches a week maybe?...of course watching and looking for any wrong turns along the way.

I got some frags from tricky (rick and terry) a few months back and did not acclimitize well...they dulled out a bit and are now starting to come back nicely, still moving a few around to see what they like best. Knowing of course the torts liking hi light/hi flow also so trying to see how to lay out the tank.

Thanks again for an awesome frag pack. will have to post some pics for ya soon
