Montipora bleaching

My montipora is bleaching and dying. Should i try and cut off the bad part and save the good part? Tank is 55 gallon mixed reef. All other corals appear to be fine. I have other sps, LPS and softies. All seem healthy. Water parameters: temp 78, ph 8.2, ammonia .25, nitrites 0, nitrates 80, Calcium 420, alkalinity 9.0, phosphate 0. Any thoughts are appreciated

Hey man. Sorry to hear about the monti. I would do a couple 10g water changes and try to get the Am and Nitrates down. Nitrates could definitely be part of it. How long has it been since you changed your bulbs? If the bleaching just started I wouldn't cut off any pieces yet. Let me know when you have time and I'll bag you a big thing of cheato.

I would wonder why you are showing Am? Did something else die? Something you might not have noticed? You can frag the healthy pieces without issue. Is this a new coral or something you have had?
