Montipora ID please

Hi all,

I got this one from a friend a while back, but never asked him what kind it was. I believe that it is a Rainbow Montipora, but I'm not sure. Mainly because I don't see much red on it.

Can you guys confirm?

Yes. A beautiful Rainbow montipora.
Pokerstar isn't the same, and doesn't have the orange polyps near the edge. I've got them both.

Great to hear this. I looked at a few Pokerstar ones online and it didn't look correct to me.

If you don't mind me asking, light wise, what is the best place for this coral? I've seen that they need high light, but mine is doing great at the lower end of the tank.

I just want to make sure I keep it healthy for long term.

The best place? Away from your favorite acro´s, and perhaps on a rock of its own Once it get´s going there is no stopping it.

It's easy to keep. If the light is a little low, it will get a brown/purple basecolor, and only stay blue near the edge.
Doesn't need much though. I can keep them blue in my frag-tank under 4 t5 bulbs
