Original frag is almost dead center (picked it up in 2008):

Here is a pic of mine I got a couple months ago....albeit a slightly different variation as yours as it doesn't have the 'pitted' polyps; instead the skin is all smooth throughout. It's still a tiny frag that has encrusted the plug. Can't wait till it grows up!! I love the random deep purple on neon green skin with deep purple polyps.....wicked contrast, especially when lighted under actinics!!! The mother colony where this came from is almost alien looking.

I have an Idaho grape that has begun growing up the back glass and shows no sign of stopping, I have been throwing it out actually since it is overgrowing EVERYTHING. It is (to some extent) becoming a pest in my 90!

Here is an LED shot of Sunset Monti through the arms of an acro:

And an LED (kind of crappy) shot of some Seasons Greetings, Red/Orange Cap, and some other acro/zooa shennanigans...

I've also got Purple Haze, Superman, and a quickly spreading pokerstar. I would give my first born for a frag of that Rainbow Acro from down under!

I have read that Montiporas are decent SPS corals to start out with, especially because they can do with lower light. But then everytime I look at one, people say that to maintain their color they need higher light (for example, the Idaho Grape.) I love the look of the cap and digi, but will I be able to keep them in my tank, which is run on the cool side, with HO T5s, and somewhat "dirty"?

Tell me about it.

DAMN!!!!! :eek1: And you can get a really good perspective of the size of those massive colonies by looking at the Copperband Butterfly in the left side of pic....I wish I had 'pests' like that...:lol2:

Nice monti's. They grow too fast and they are invasive. wish i had a bigger tank. But i'd definitely make room for the sunburst monti!!!!!!!!!!!
