Montipora pylop question

I have a oringe montipora cap coral and I have it positioned on the outskirts of my tank. When I was only using 1*250W MH it had very long pylops that stood up off the coral, they almost looked like small zoos.

I got a light meater and found that 1 light was not cutting it and upgraded to 2*250W MH and now I am getting more light to this coral. It now has a good sized growth ridge that it never had before, however the pylops don't stand up any more, they open at the surface of the coral.

I was wondering if I should be worried?
Thanks,
Whiskey

P.S. perams stayed the same, i just upped my 2 part dosing to make up for the growth.
Ca = 420
ALK = 9.0 Dkh
Mag = 1250
phospate = 0
nitrate = 5
PH = 8.2

Thanks,
Whiskey

all of my montis open up on the surface thats just what they do and they are all growing exeelntly (except maybe my blue) i dont think it is any concern at all to be honest, i would be more worried if i had zoo size polyps.

my orange cap did the same thing for a while, you could see the polyps flowing in the current but now it dosent usually open up as much but its growing and healthy.

more than likely the larger polyps was your cap starving for light and opening the polyps past the normal point in an effort to feed off of what little light there was. It sounds like now you have a more healthy environment for it, and your cap is happier :)
