Best placement for a red setosa to be grown under AI Leds in a 24" high tank? The lights are 12" above the tank.

I just got one today....best one I've seen GROW was in the bottom quarter of a solana under a 150w phoenix....if you were to divide it by what they go for on liveauqaria the rock it was on would have been worth about $3k:eek1:

best placement would be under good flow with space for growth. Lighting wise, they aren't that picky but can be acclimated to very strong lighting. Depends on what color you would like your setosa to be, darker orange or more pinkish

I had them all over the tank and they did good everywhere. They might change a shade in different light, but not a picky growers.

I got a good size frag from reeffarmers a couple months ago
love it I keep it in alot of flow it's In 12" tall frag tank with a 3 250watt halides 20"
over the tank I get alot more orange'y red

Thanks folks. I have the frag approx 20" from the lights.
The color is good but the growth is slower than expected.
I might try boosting the flow slightly. Sorry about the huge picture.

I keep mine on the bottom, which is over 40" from my lights (400W 14k MH's). Flow is decent and alternating. It's growth is slow but steady and the color is a slightly washed out orange. I'd love to move it up a bit but I'm out of real estate right now.

mine didnt like high flow at all.

moved it to slightly lower flow and its much happier.
