Montipora Spongodes

I bought a piece about a month ago and it hasn't really colored up. It browned out fast on the way from the place i bought it about an hour away (was also walking around with it in the bag for 2 hours) and never came back. All the other corals I bought with it have all colored up and look great. It has awesome PE but no green coloring to it. I hooked up a phosban reactor a week ago and everything else looks better but no improvement on the spongodes. Any ideas to get it to color up? It's in the middle of the tank with 250w MH's (90g) so lighting isn't a problem and its in moderate flow.

just give it time. I have pieces of that coral growing fully exposed to 250W MH and other pieces so shaded by overgrowth I can't believe they survive, but all grow fine and have their characteristic green color.

hmm... may you should try lowering it in the tank. i have small colony on the sand bed and it has a solid fluorescent green color to it.

Bump... Still no change. It's weird, the tips are green under my actinics but the rest is brown. Great PE, and no change, good or bad. I moved it up a little bit and the polyps on the very tips turned purple but nothing else.
Any other suggestions?

i had the same thing happen with mine. i moved it around for about 2 months and gave up. 6 months later after not touching it it turned electric green with a deep blue growth edge. i guess it just needed to be left alone.
