Moon Coral Questions (pics)

Ok the first picture is of the moon coral with 2 arrows. They are pointing to spots that seem to be getting burned by the 150w MH.
The obvious bad spots were from a coral sting before I received it. I just dont want the undamaged part to start burning now.

I moved the coral so now it over hangs in a bit of shade. My question is I thought that it was far enough away as it was. You can see the spots it is and was from the next picture. Oh ya and dont mind all the GSP frags. I HAD to start fragging it. It grows like a weed :(

How much light do they need? Am I giving it to much? I cant get it any father away. It is about 2 ft from the top of the tank and 2 1/2 ft from the light.

I can't see your pics, but I'm assuming were talking about a favia / favites, or similar brain? I keep my favia at the bottom of my 215, 29"+ below my t5's, and its doing fine. I would be inclined to think that a 150 MH would be a bit much if the coral is directly under it and close to the top, but I can't see the pics to tell you more.

I believe you are on the right track. I have two similar brains in my 75g, one is all the way on the bottom on a ledge, and the other is tucked underneath a ledge halfway up that gets no direct light.
The new place you've chosen to site yours looks ideal to me.

Mariner
