Is it possible just to run the moon lites(simulating the moon cycle) ......If so I would I set it up I have a lamp module

What type moon lights?

I emailed the folks that make the Outer Orbit fixture and they told me that the LED type moonlights, at least theirs, were not dimmable.

I think the lamp dimmer that is used with the ACIII is mainly for incandescent bulbs, which is what I currently use.

There is an undocumented feature on the DC8 that works as a dimmer. If you plug into the 8th outlet it will dim... however Neptune states that at low light settings it can flicker.... (hence the no documentation).

Just get yourself a simple incandesent bulb (like the older christmas ornament bulbs)... painted blue...

so is there a command related to the dimming feature?
other than

If Moon Then ...

I mean is there a DIM command or the Like? that would allow me to set the intensity ( not completely sure why I would just wondering)

Dave

No dim commands are available to the user. It would be a simple firmware change to allow us to be able to send our own dimming levels. I have asked for it in a future firmware release but the responce from Curt was that it will only happen if a large number of people would use it.

Yeah and I had asked kurt to be able to test the dimming conditions... If you don't have a dimmable bulb you can still use the moon command on a regular socket, but it all on or off, and thats "too much" moon light...

Would be neat to be able to say

If Moon 000/000 THEN MLT ON
IF DIM<30 THEM MLT OFF

Well I run on a hood, not a canopy so an Xmas light sticking out from under the hood MIGHT be a tad noticeable. =)
