quick question: LED lights shining directly down into the tank or directed upward to the reflector in the lighting system?

Direct looks so much better, but not sure if it is too much light? They are blue LEDs

I have never heard concerns that a few watts of moonlight LED would be too much. I'm pretty sure you just want to go direct.
