Moonlight question

I just recently purchased a Coralife single LED moonlight and have it set to turn on at night (all night) until the PC's come back on in the morning. Is this right? Should I just leave the moonlights on for only a short time and then let the tank have complete darkness? Are there any adverse effects on corals if the moonlight is on all night every night?

I just leave mine on all night. Like the moon...

I've transition period and at least one of the light is on so that it will not have complete darkness in the tank.
