Moontube

Dan, I have two of these on my 180. They really look nice. Mine are the basic setup and I don't even run a timer on them, I just leave them on 24/7.

I love the way moonlights work, and I think it is worth it to spend a little extra for a good one. The cheaper ones dont seem to give off enough light to see the tank how you would want to at night.

I think everyone should have a good moonlight, and that one looks pretty good to me.

I want to get the lunar cycle timer thinige. Wonder if it would make corals spawn..... hmmmm I have though it was cool how they are trying to replicate nature.

Actually, I read an article by Calfo that moon lights are not good for some corals.

I think we read the same article. I thought he said that to powerful of moonlights on all the time aren't good for corals? No cycle.

I have read stuff like that also before. I also heard Clams can die from spawning, its a stress related event some say? that's why when they force them to spawn they take a clam out of the tank for a while then throw it back in and it spawns as a last ditch effort to re colonize.
I don't know how much of it all I believe but the part about it polluting the tank I can see that being bad.
