Moorish Idol or Emp. Angel & LPS?

From what I've researched, it's a no-no most of the time, except they've heard or seen ...

I was just a the LFS and saw a Moorish Idol. I fed it some flakes and it was actually eating it. I wanted to get it, but I have LPS (Frogspawn, Bubble Coral, Candy Cane and some leathers).

Did I make the right choice in not picking it up?

Second question. I've always wanted an Emperor Angel, but I guess the same goes there considering the corals in my tank, right?

I've kept many angels and a moorish idol in my systems and always test them out before hand... the idol went to town on lps, but I kept him in my sps display for a long while before he went to town on an acropora... Generally, large angels and lps do not mix, and that's the experience I've had... fungia, frogspawns are usually fine but meatier brains and candy cane types are usually lunch...

This is exactly the kind of post that I was hoping to get out of this thread. Your personal experiences, although your tank is a lot bigger than mine, gives me a better idea of what I would expect.

I do have some nice meaty brains in there that I really like too, so I guess I'll have to say no for the time being to an Emperor Angel. I was looking forward to hearing that grunt.

Do what I do... have an sps tank with your angels... and a seperate tank for your softies and lps :bounce1:
