Morton's calcium chloride??

here is a link to this brand of calcium chloride ice melter...does anyone know if this is safe to use for the calcium part of the 2-part recipe?

the only ingredient listed is calcium chloride... any thoughts?

We cannot tell if it is adequately pure from that sort of information, sorry. It might be, but it is not easy to tell. To determine that Dowflake was OK, I ran a large battery of tests that would be quite expensive for general use on new materials:

I believe it is Tetra94. If you call them, they'll probably send you the Tetra94 product data sheet that is available here. http://www.tetrachemicals.com/Products/Calcium_Chloride/Dry_Calcium_Chloride/TETRA_94.aqf

Some folks have been using Tetra calcium chloride with acceptable results. I think Boomer talked to them about impurities to ensure they did not have the bromide that Dowflake has. But I cannot vouch for the Morton stuff myself.

Why not just get it from 2part.com ? cheap, good service etc.

Randy is correct but I do not know about the Morton and which Tetra they are using. Over all, Tetra is pretty clean stuff as the use the Limestone Method.
