What would you guys use? I've been using api liquid tests. Nitrites show 0, ammonia has shown .50 since day 1. Dosed it with amquel plus and its still showing .50 so I'm thinking the test if off. What do you guys use?

I used API for ammonia and nitrite when cycling

Salifert for nitrate, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium and Hanna checker for phosphate.

Maybe you can get someone else to test the ammonia for you to double check your test. Most LFS will do this.

The API ammonia tests is not that accurate at the low end.
This is what I'm figuring

They did but they used api liquid to. Are dry strip more accurate?

I think what you mean is consistently accurate. :). I use Hannah Checkers for Alk and Ca. I use Salifert for Magnesium.

I've had API, salifert and Hanna. I trust Hanna first then salifert. I'll never use API again. Way off on ammonia and alkalinity.

The store got the same result but I also got the test from that store. Possibly the same batch. I'll check out hannah. Thanks guys
