anyone done this successfully? was thinking about doing a few colonies here and there. would i just use that putty? but its usually not strong enough. superglue gel from BRS is pretty tough stuff
I'm not sure it will gain the greatest purchase on the glass. I've seen it on magnets an overflows. Personally I had that huge sniper's misty blue encrusted most of one of my overflows. It just peeled right off. Not sure it would have supported the weight of the colony.
that was where i was going with it, i have an old mag float i could use. might be cool. just need a way to cover up the magfloat and make it look "realistic"
if you wanted to do something simple like zoos you could start them on rock right next to the back and they could easily spread to cover the back of the tank.
The Red Planet on my overflow is roughly 1/8 in thick on my over flow and is extremely hard to remove. I vote for the overflow it has some texture to it which should help strengthen it. Right now have a few branches that are at least 3"+ with multiple branches and it's not going anywhere..jmo...
