Mounting pulsing xenia question

I have seen people who get pulsing xenia to grow on the back and sides of the tank. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on getting this to happen. I just got 2 small colonies of it and was hoping to be able to do this. Any tips or pics would be great.

Just lein the xenia against the glass. They will split and attach to anything they are touching. I however would suggest against placing this coral in your tank. They can spread to plageu proportions. This may seem kind of neat now but down the road you'll wish you hadent. Trust me I tried to do what you are and I now have about 50 heads everywhere and have to prune it every other month

i personally am trying to get rid of all thats in my tank.....not one for throwing coral in th etrash but wish i never got it........as far as on glass.as stated lean the rock towards the glass...mine grows upo and out.....

+2 on the plague proportions.

I thought it was "cute" to have them in the tank, pulsing and giving life to the tank.

"Aww ain't that neat" quickly turned to "***!! where did they all come from" in no time at all.

Grew like a weed and I had no control over where they grew, until I started ripping them out and tossing them to one side of the tank. Eventually they all died.

They rank very high on my don't do it list along with the grape algae that I added because it added color to the tank. Never do that again either.

lol its funny this stuff either grows in your tank or wont. i have never had luck with it but the rest of my tank does fine! some ppl say its a blessing!!!
;)

Same thing with Green Star Polyps and most of those 'soft corals' (not meaning palys or zoas), Yes I know some of the stores sell these at a premium but beware of corals that you see people giving away (frequently seen with 'soft corals').

Just be careful not to get it close to overflows or powerheads. If a piece goes through an impeller you have just effectively seeded your entire tanks surface with xenia.

just keep it isolated, i have a xenia island, it looks awsome there is a thick mat taking up the side of my 72 bow, it does grow though i just hacked a bunch off adn tossed it in my fige adn it is now growing well in the fuge also
