Move fish from QT to Display

I have a Harlequin Tusk that is ready to move from my 50 gallon QT to my 150 gallon FOWLR.

The QT Salinity is at 1.0228 and the display is at 1.0219 (using misco digital reader). I am slowly raising the display (want to get it to 1.024).

For now, is this too much of a gap to move the tusk (just planned on having temp and salinity to match and drop him in). I can drop the QT a little more by removing some water and add RO and then wait a few hours to make the move.

The most cautious approach is what you describe - lower the QT specific gravity to match your display. Having said that, most fish will tolerate a small drop in specific gravity (0.003 isn't a lot of difference), though it's advisable not to rapidly increase the specific gravity.

+1 You are within range to move the tusk now, without acclimation. Just make sure temp also matches.

Definitely not a problem. It's safe to be dropped in as long as the temp and PH are also close. With the HT already QT'ed which means adjusted to captivity, that small of a difference in salinity isn't a issue IME. Still advice to drop the me in at night to avoid stress from the existing tank mates.

Another question on moving the fish. When moving, is using a net ok with the tusk? Last time I moved a fish (Lion Fish) I used 2 gallon bucket to scoop out of the QT opposed to a net and then gently put in display,

For the Tusk I can do the same or use a net to get out of the bucket or use my hands (never used hands before).

When possible, I use a colander to move fish. The square ones (see pic below) make it easier to catch the fish than the typical round ones.

The net is likely the number one cause of external bacterial infection

I use a large clear plastic bag and slowly approach fish and induce it to swim into the bag
