Move in day

Moving fishies into their new house tonight. Want to give them a fresh water dip to make sure I'm getting a fresh start. Anybody got any techniques they want to share. Does anyone freshwater dip corals? I've heard good and bad for that

I took a Tupperware container and punched a lot of holes in the bottom (all around the bottom/side so it would drain uniformly/quickly). Prepared pH adjusted freshwater in another container. Caught the fish in the holey Tupperware container, pulled the Tupperware barely out of the water and let the water drain through the holes then put the fish in the freshwater. Watch the fish during the bath for erratic behavior, then pour the freshwater and fish into the holey Tupperware (I put another container underneath it to catch the water, let it drain. Hold the holey Tupperware barely over the tanks water line and kinda of nudge them out into the tank.

I've done 2 and 3 minutes. Everyone seems to have their own length of time that is best but just keep an eye on the fish and abort if necessary.

I have never done this and have for the most part (a few exceptions) have had good results with my fish. However what I have read says 2-5 minutes but monitor the fish as some species do not tolerate it as well as others and make sure the water is airated as low oxygen can cause problems. I have had many fish over the years and can honestly not recall ever noticing any external parasites on any. Most all the fish I have lost have been to the carpet or to stress from getting picked on. However I have lost a few that I could not explain.

I fw dip clams but as for corals I dip with revive or coral Rx, do not think I would try fw dip on corals sounds risky.

Yea I've heard bad stories. Specially with lps. Think I'll skip that. Everything good so far. Big red nemos anem looks a lil ****ed but it should be ok. Put some rocks in from my other tanks and noticed shortly after introduction a bunch of serpent stars crawled up to the top of the rocks then raised their bodies up and released a cloudy liquid. Are they spawning or trying to nuke my tank I wonder??
