Moved Tank

I moved my tank about a week ago and I have a brown film over all of my live rock I lost all of my xenia and mushrooms. What can I do to get healthy again? I am going to do a water change is there anything else I should be looking at?

In the Naperville area looking for some more xenia and mushrooms.

Thanks,

Anthony

its proably going through a mini cycle thats all
it should clear up again
did u add new water to it and was it ro water?
is it in more sunlight now than it was before?

It sounds like you experienced a new tank cycle (when you moved, did you relocate all the existing sand and live rock?). Test for Ammonia and Nitrates. My guess would be high in both right now.

Continue with the water changes to bring these down. Add some carbon in a good flow area to help with any toxins released by the dying mushrooms and for general clarity.

Sorry to hear about your corals.

i got mushrooms in a FO tank where i m treating with quick cure and they havent died off at all
mushrooms are usually the only coral that would survive anything like joroscoe said

I did a 30% water change when I moved and changed the multi element filter when I moved the tank. The mushrooms literally disappeared I think I had about 20 of them all over. Purple, pink and blue. The corals that are left umbrella leather, neon hammer,
colt are doing okay. I think you are right about a mini cycle but how would you prevent it?

Thanks,

Anthony

i lost some livestock when i moved them over to a new tank, i think the combination of chasing them with a net to catch them and an undetected ammonia spike from moving the liverock got them, whats surprising is i lost no mushrooms, or anything, i have a ricordia and some other kind of soft coral that did fine, did loose some star polyps, but of all fish I had a blue damsel croak, lost my clown, a cromis but had a clown goby survive, I think the addition of amquel saved him but am unsure

You'll always have some sort of cycle. Just try and minimize it by doing a 90% water change when moving and run carbon atleast for the 1st mth.
