moving a clam to new tank?

I will be moving my 55 gal into a new 120 gal soon. In the back of my mind, I thought I read somewhere that clams should never be exposed to the air. Is this true?

its not true, just make sure to tilt the clam back and forth a few times(burp) so that no air is traped under the mantle

nope, they can b exposed to air
