Moving a leather

I purchased a leather that was attached to a rather large shell (Just smaller than a fist). The leather has been doing exceptional, but I want to move it off this huge ugly shell and have it attach to my rockwork. Can I just slice the foot/trunk of this thing a glue it where I want it? I've tried just laying the shell right next to where I want it, but the leather doesn't really move and the shell seems to always roll away after a day or two.

leathers are pretty forgiving but it may not be happy for awhile after you move it off the shell. The foot is always a pain to get off of pretty much anything. That's actually why a lot of people don't have them mounted to their rocks. Mine is mounted on a rock and looks great.

try to scrape the foot as much as you can. When you attach it to the new rock you will need to use some fishing line to attach it. it will take a few weeks to attach to the new rock. So I say cut away, but that's up to you!
