Moving a maxima

I just received a maxima about 4" and it is attached to a rock that does not fit into my rockwork. I would like to move the clam to my main rock structure. What is the best why if any. I would be willing to break up the rock if it won't hurt the clam.

use a razor and carefully cut the byssal thread.

Tip the clam a bit and cut the threads, don't rip them. It will not hurt the clam one bit.

Don't break the rock because it could tear the foot every which way.
