Moving a Tank

Hi everyone, I am new to the area but have been keep reef tanks for over 10 years. I am moving a tank and need to get ahold of some water jugs. Where can I pick some up in the Knoxville area?

Hey Kyle

Welcome to the area. How much water are you wanting to move? If you are moving water and you have to buy the jugs, it would almost seem cheaper to make new water especially if you are talking about lots of water. I have a 100g plastic tank that can be available in a day or two.

Rubbermaid containers from Walmart are a good. You'd have to place them in your car and fill them up (and empty them) with buckets, but you can get a good 30G container that will hold 20G -- just be sure to get one without "feet" built into the bottom.

Welcome to Knoxville Kyle. Walmart also sells 5 gallon jugs in the Culligan water section. If you need something larger but not 100 gallons I've got a food grade pickle barrel you're welcome to borrow. I think it is about 40 gallons. You could always ask LFS for used salt buckets but I believe most are using bagged salt these days.
