Moving a Toadstool??

In-A-Gadda-Divita!
I have a Tyree Neon Green Toadstool that is being surrounded by RBTA's. It rarely opens due to the tentacles all round it.
It has moved off the original frag mount and on to the rock, how do I remove it to remount it in a safer location?

Thanks!

I went to a FMAS (Florida Reef club) meeting and we had a lady who is a frag seller or whatever you have it come talk. She demonstrated how to frag and mount Toadstools actually.... It might apply to you....

She put the toadstool frags in a acclimation type box because you can't just glue them down to things and rubberbands suck. It takes about a week for them to adhere to the plug. Now I can't remember but I though you were able to cut the base of the toadstools. Might want to check up on that one.

Are you able to take the rock out that its on right now and dremmel it out and move it?

Nope, cannot get the rock out.
It is about 20" down on the column, but I can reach it. I have heard about cutting them, but want to know how and where to cut.
Thanks!

Yup, slice it up! Just take a sharp knife and cut the toadstool at the base. Then place it in a small Tupperware and let it attach to some rock rubble/frag disks. The part of the toadstool that will still be attached to your rock, will most likely live as well!

I have cut them off rocks many times to move. Just took scissors and snipped as close to rock as I could. The only problem is that you will be able to move the big peice but another one will grow from what's left over on the rock. Over time, Like me you will end up with bunch of TS everywhere.

How'd this project go Phil? Or are you in the middle of slicing now?

I have one that's too close to the glass which I need to move.

Sorry, didn't make the time last weekend. I will post results when I do.

Thanks!

what i did with mine

take a toad stool piece, super glue gel the bottom to a frag plug/rock/etc that you've dried partially with paper towel, let sit for 2-4 minutes then put back in tank.

works like a charm, no cutting involved
