Moving across the country..

Man I've lived in FL my whole life and been in Miami for the past few years. I just found out that I am going to be moving to California for a year for my Clinical rotations. I am leaving in 2 months.
I want to thank all you guys for helping me out for the past year or so with any questions and also making me go broke between swaps, Mike, and Ty.

What is my best option to do?
Should I sell everything and maybe start a new tank over there? Or is there a possibility where I can move everything? I know it won't be easy because of die off in the time from here to California.
I have a Deep Blue 60 rimless right now, set up as a shallow. I may downgrade my tank but how should I go about transferring my live stock? If it's possible, I want to keep my clowns and anemone and a few select corals.
If anyone has advice on what to do or anything that can help, I'd appreciate it!

I will be having a FS thread soon.

There will be many questions to ask yourself.
Are u flying or driving.
If driving . A bucket with mobile air pump and controlled temp. Will be good.
The tank is not that big. So transportation of it is not that bad.
Or if u fly, u can overnight the livestock, but it may cost. Also for last California is the main port that lots of ocean life comes in from outside the USA. So to find corals and fish will be easy. Just my two cents.

I might overnight my live stock but I figured I need something set up in Cali before I do that.

Maybe a local fish store would be able to hold my live stock for a few days and send it out? or a Local reefer? :D

Best of luck. At some point in the near future I will be doing the same trek. Please keep us updated on how/if you transport over. When we go it will be by car and pickup.

I'll definitely come back for an update.

If I can get a place to house my live stock for a few weeks until I get settled in and have them ship it out, that might be the best thing to do..

A year is a long time yet not long for reefing. If it was me, I'd probably sell everything and probably start a pimp daddy nano if you couldn't stay away. The nano would be easy to bring back and seed your next upgrade. Nanos also fill in pretty fast. Again, my opinion...,.

^ Yeah that's what I was going for. I want to set up a Nano and keep a few existing corals and 2 fish!

+1 on this. It will be stressful on the livestock, going from where they are now, to a temp setup for a few weeks, only to be bagged and shipped, and then dropped into another setup.

Unless it's something rare, I would sell it all off, bank the money and plan for your return to Florida to setup a new system.

Mannnnnnn.. I just got some really nice pieces from WWC live sale.
Very nice Chalices and also WWC Krakatoas! I can't let them go..... I may have to. :(

And I just won a $200 gift card from their raffle. Horrible timing

I am in the same boat. In less than a year, I am leaving to go to Japan for 1-5 years to teach English. All the work I am working on right now is all in vayne in 1 year :(!

I am probably going to break it all down and sell it. No way anybody around knows enough to keep a goldfish alive ;'(
