moving help!

Im moving and in the process of getting my live rock back in my 55g at my new residence, meanwhile my corals and fish are in limbo. I was wondering if I could put my corals (just 3) in my qt tank for awhile while the water clears, and my live rock gets placed back in. My concern is the lighting in my qt is basic lighting. How long would the corals be okay in there for? On that note, how long will live rock be ok in tubs with tank water?

get it done ASAP. Corals can last a little while without the light, but not for very long. The rock however, as long as the water in the tubs is not getting completely screwed up, such as PH lowering to unheathly levels and alk and cal dropping too much, stuff like that, should be just fine. Keep an airstone or powerhead in there for circulation though. Letting it sit stagnant will simply uncure the rock for you and cause alot of dieoff.

Why not get some new saltwater mixed up, get it in the QT and start acclimating the corals to the new cleared water.

thanx for the response... with the corals, how long is not very long? I have them in the quarantine tank right now with my clowns and blenny. As for the live rock, I need to get another heater, and then I can get them goin with powerheads and heating to keep them fine. However, they have been in the tubs for about 4 hours now. I know im pushing it here, but how much longer could they be fine for.
