moving into a new apartment

so i'm moving into a new apartment and it has a no pet policy. maybe this is a dumb question, but surely something like that wouldn't apply to having an aquarium would it? i forgot to ask, so i thought i'd get some opinions with anyone who may have experienced anything like it

Alot of times, no pets, means no pets of any kind. I would definitely ask, as this is probably to prvent any damaged caused by pets.

I have lived in several appartments that had a no pet policy, but I have always had an aquarium of some sort, be it fish or a snake. I always asked if the managment minded and they never have, normally as long as it is contained in an aquarium you are in the clear.

Fish and corals are not "pets" by most definitions of the word. I think they kind of fall into the same classification as "plants". I wouldn't even ask unless they had a "No Waterbed" policy or something of the like.

yeh thats the thing, i'm moving into a 2nd floor apt and they do have a no waterbed on the 2nd floor deal. so i dunno. i'm going to call in a bit and ask, let's hope for the best...

so i have the results now...i called and maybe lied a little on the actual size of the tank but still haha i got the okay as long as i'm not putting it on the bar. which i wouldn't do in the first place. so there's a big relief

You should be careful with a reef tank on the second floor though!

I've never been one to worry about it but they can definitely get quite heavy.
