Moving large tanks 180g +

I heard somewhere that filling a glass tank and draining a tank (like for a move) excessive times will compromise the strength of the seals and cause a leak or catastrophic failure.

Dose anyone have experience with this?

I'll be moving @ the end of the year and was starting to worry cuz my tank has been moved several times in the past.

Or maybe this is just an attempt to justify a new bigger tank.:rolleye1:

Thanks

it's not good for a tank to sit for extended periods dry after being filled previously. I've had a few large tanks start to leak after they were allowed to sit dry (with no pressure on the glass) for a few months after being filled for a decade but draining and refilling isn't that stressful on the seals.
