Moving Leathers

I will be moving everything from my 125 to a 180. The problem I have is some of my leathers have attached to other from their base rock. How does one go about freeing these from rocks? Is there a way to do this without harming them?

scalpel or box cutter, cut as close to the rock it isnt supposed to be on, if your knife is up to snuff you can try to cut the rock itself out from under the coral...most leathers are pretty bullet proof though a slice here and there shouldnt hurt it any..got pics of the monster?

I had an eight year old leather that I moved this way with no problems at all. There were four or five pieces of flesh still attached to the rock the parent leather was on that has now started to grow at least three new single leather corals about six months later.
