Moving - Looking for buckets

I am asking for trouble, but we are moving from indy to just north of pittsburgh in a few weeks. We have a 180 & 55 gallon salt, 2 55 gallon fresh. My goal is too try to keep as much of the water and sand as possible but I am having a difficult time finding transport containers. Everything is a few hundred dollars for anything clean enough to haul. I think i am limited to trying to get what wont fit in my 100gallon rubbermaid, which will be holding 200# of rock and 100# of sand, if i can figure out a good way to seal it will be transported in the salt buckets.

If anyone has any they no longer want let me know, or if you have any recommendations for making the move easier.

Thanks

I manage a restaurant and we go through a lot of 5 gallon buckets. Let me know and I can save some for you. They smell like pickles though. :)

i probably have a few buckets, and maybe a tote or two, and a few styrofoam containers. when i moved i went to menards and bought those 20 gal tall plastic totes w/lids and used those along with buckets for the fish. since u dont want to disturb the sand bed, i took everyting out of the tank except the sand and left just enough water to barely cover the top of the sand in the tank and moved it that way.since u r moving so far i would also get a converter for ur lighter plug in ur vehicle and hook up a couple air pumps and powerheads for the fish and corals. as far as bagging stuff i didnt. just keep things u know will harm others seperate. if u keeps things seperated and have enough water for everything to be covered well u shouldnt lose a thing. oh and anything saltwater u dont want or cant take. u can leave them with me lol

Im not sure if pickle buckets are good or not for use, i will have to see if my fish like the smell of pickles

We are using a 3 ton box truck to move these and will be buying the battery backup roadside units from sams club to provide heat and air in the back of the truck while we transport 5 hours.

As far as the tubs from menards it need to have a nice seal so we dont make too much of a mess of the truck and lose our water.

As far as the fish I was also entertaining the idea of drilling a hole in the lid just big enough for an airhose and heater cord and putting a few in each bucket. There are not many fish thankfully.
