so i need to move everything from there to my place.

thanks

I'm not much on using old water other than what I transport everything in. But totally agree with blktang on the rest.

On the substrate, I'd keep a good amount for seeding but would probably start with fresh sand.

If it is really really cold out when you do this, you could also use a little heater/powerhead during the transports powering them with a power inverter for the car. I think I paid about 35 bucks for a 400 watt one.

I second this. Depending on how deep your sand is currently, disturbing the bottom layers could result in some die off and also potentially release some hydrogen sulfide from anoxic pockets. The end result is you could have a small cycle. IMO, its best to start with a fresh bed and add some old sand to seed it.

Otherwise, if you keep everything in water, you shouldn't see a detectable cycle. However, I would also keep some extra clean salt water on hand.
