Moving reef tank ?

Battery powered air pump to start! Pick one up for about $20 bucks and keep it the rest of your life for emergencies like power outages.

MOst people feel the need to save the water. I usually don't. I feel that there is a lot more bacterial on the substrates than in the water. Just mix the salt a day before hand to give it time to dissolve.

Yes, but I think he's trying to keep other contents of the tank alive as I did on a recent road trip.

Forget moving 75 gallons of water. That's crazy as you will be moving a 75 gallon tank, a complete set-up. Drain as much as possible. I left 20% water in my old tank. Go to your LFS and ask them for a battery powered air pump. They run on DD batteries. If you don't remove enough water, you'll have trouble getting it in your car and you'll be swimming in the middle of an ocean with all of the splashing that goes on. Put the pump in the tank with an air hose.

You'll be fine! It will be the most exciting five hour drive ever. Have the replacement water already mixed at home before the trip. If you mix salt yourself, mix it and keep it moving while your away with a small air pump. It should be circulating about 14 hours before you put it in the tank, at least that's what I hear (but I don't mix my saltwater.

Most importantly, take your time and have a blast. Expect to make mistakes. I have a ton. BTW, what are the contents?

He said there is also some bubble algae and red bugs. Is this something to worry about or easialt fixed. Jim
