Moving tank

So I have a 10 gallon tank that I keep in my dorm and school ends in two week so I'm taking the tank with me back home (about 90 minutes away) and I was wondering how to move everything. I have 2 clown fish 4 hermit crabs and 2 snails I was thinking I would put them all in a bucket with a battery powered airater but my main question is how should I move the tank to prevent as much die of on my live rocks and sand as possible I was thinking of putting the whole thing in a plastic tub and laying the rocks down as flat as possible and leave enough water in the tank to keep them covered. Would this work any one with experience in this area? I would love some input.

Its only 10G so its light enough to just pick up as is..

I would throw in that bubbler (I probably wouldn't even do that for just 90 minutes but its certainly better than not having it) then just tape some thin plastic sheet right over it to keep the water from splashing all over.. Poke a few holes in the center of the plastic (less likely to have water come out the center vs if the holes were along the sides and then go..
No need to do anything else IMO.. Everything will be just fine and there will be no die off..

As one who just moved into a new house last week including my 40B mixed reef you've got it easy with just a 10g tank..

If it were me I would use three 5 gallon buckets. Put the fish, crabs etc in one, split the rock between the other two. Divide the water between the three to make sure the rocks are covered. No need to an aerator or anything for 90 minutes. Fish go hours in bags during transit. I would ditch the sand, especially if you are going to move it twice a year. Everything trapped in it will get stirred up every move. IFY, you will need some new water when you get home.

Since it's only a 10 I just buy pre mixed so I'll just have a couple of boxes at home ready but I live on a mountain so I'm going to take the fish and what not out just to make sure they aren't accidentally crushed by the rocks thanks for the I'm putt guys

Are you sure I need to take the sand out I really don't like the glass bottom look sand just looks nice to me. could I possibly get an alternative substrate or something that wouldn't make such a mess each move

You can Google fake sand bottoms.
They are for people who want a bare bottom tank but not the bare bottom look.
It's just a thin layer of sand in silicone with some more sand sprinkled on top.

Obviously you will need to buy a second 10 gallon tank and experiment with that and let it cure long before you put fish in it. 😊

This is what i would do, re-used sand can crash a moved tank--why risk it. 1.5hrs is not bad, keep LR under water. Tape lids w/ duct tape to minimize SW in trunk.
