- Friends (Bribe with pizza/beer)
- 5 gallon buckets
- Rubber maid totes (many)
- Airstones (maybe)
How far are you moving?
Can you spend time at each place beforehand?
Best bet is to make up some saltwater at the place the tank is going to in advance, and have it waiting and ready.
When the big time comes, just take all the fish out and put them in buckets/totes depending on size. Save as much water as you can. If its a long drive, battery operated pumps and air stones into the totes/buckets.
Take out the corals/rocks/etc and lay them out as best you can in rubbermaid totes. I personally DO NOT suggest putting fish in the ones with rocks, in case a rocky drive cause things to shift and risk crushing your fish.
Once you get everything alive out of the way, break the tank down. Throw out the sand (my suggestion, its easier to buy new then clean), and dismantle to move it.
Get it to new place, set it all up, and start putting things back into it with as much fresh saltwater as you need to get it back up to size.
Probably leave lights low/off for a day while everything adjusts and settles?
