Moving to Houston

I am moving to Houston next spring and would like to know what the reef community looks like out there.. Clubs, LFS, exc ..
 
We have a great community here in the Houston area, called MARSH (Marine Aquarium and Reef Society of Houston). Plenty of good to downright awesome LFS too.
 
Like tektite said there is marsh and depending on what part of town your moving too there is a bunch if lfs

Oh man you are set for life.

btw... houston is kinda of like Hotel California... it's hot, ugly and a bit backasswards sometimes, but once your in you can never leave.
You'll get so used to the low cost of living, especially on oil and gas salary... you'll be living like a king! :thumbsup:

I just hope Texas is half as good as everything that people say about it. I really really hate moving. I have only live in two place in my life Michigan and FL and I have been in FL since 97'. So I dont mind setting up shop somewhere and staying long term. Where I live in FL the people are kind of "backasswards" I think it has to do with the proximity to Alabama and Mississippi. You should see what Walmart looks like on a Sat afternoon.... Walcreatures everywhere... Anyway thanks for the encouragement.. I like to live life like a Ferrari !!
 
I'm in Houston in the oil industry, youll love it!! Lots of jobs popping up now, and plenty of awesome fish stores! Marsh is a great community as well. I can give you a head up on a few stores if you'd like
 
I've always gone to Fish Gallery and they've treated me well. Interested to know what other good stores are around here. I looked at City Pets but I noticed ich on a few fish there so I don't know that their quality is as good.

Oh and I'm from FL too. I guess it depends on what area you are compairing it to. My buddy lives in Vero and he is always telling me how much better of a selection I have out here.
 
FJW and 3CC are both on the NW side of town.
FJW has been up and running a little bit longer and is overflowing with awesome livestock. Puts fish gallery to shame.
And 3CC is bringing in some real nice stuff as well, some of the higher end livestock, and he's quarantining his animals!

For livestock, it doesn't get any better than these two shops.

Sweet I'll have to check those guys out! Probably a good time to look since I can't add any new fish to my bio load right now, lol.
