Hey Bob,
Just some thoughts, I am assuming you have the DM1 dual TDS meter, if so, I have personally been through three of those and have yet to see one be very accurate, JMO but I think they are junk. I have much more faith in my handheld TDS meter, the inline gave me all kinds of weird readings, the two probes read completely different in the same water etc. If you don't have a good handheld TDS meter, you may want to consider getting one. I also have a DM2 dual inline meter, it seems to be a bit more accurate, but I still use taps at a couple points and test with the handheld.
As to going through the DI resin, what are you allowing the TDS to be before changing? I wont use any water that does not read zero, not sure if this is the case for you or not. If it is and you only have one DI cartridge, you will go through it faster. This is why I have a dual DI, after the initial cost it will actually save you some $$. You can let the first DI go until it is completely used up, I let mine go until the TDS is almost the same as the water coming from the RO membrane, the second DI assures 0 TDS. Not sure this will help, but thought I would throw it out there.
