Moving to the area...need advice!

Long Beach is nice but I am pretty sure you are not going to get a big place on your budget. Take your time looking for a place once you are up here, or do a short term lease and move once you have the area figured out.

Were you employed by EADS down in LA?

I am planning on finding a "crash pad" or room to rent and do some looking around for a while, hell, I may just leave my family here and transfer to somewhere less spendy after probation. It's all WAY up in the air right now.
I am just finishing up my time with Atlantic Southeast Airlines in Baton Rouge. Good company to work for, just not much chance to advance. Its a "good ole boys club" and being an outsider, let alone from the wrong side of the war, I would be about as far as I could get now. Plus, JetBlue wants to pay me a lot more money, now, and in the future. They win!
