MP 40 fish guards?

Kigs

In Memoriam
Any mods availiable to prevent small and slow fish from getting sucked into the intake?

Don't forget that with the foam cover, you will need to clean them often. I also experienced a decreased flow with the cover on, especially as it neared cleaning time for the cover.

I have 7 of these pumps and have never lost a fish to them. One of my blennies even hangs out on top of them.

My algae blennie gets dangerously close to the point where it's almost been sucked in a few times. I think it's more of a risk on pulse as the fish approaches and/or rests on the device, then there is the surge of suction.

I agree with the clogging. When I used them, I had twice what I needed. I could let the old ones dry up, clean them, then swap them back out again.

Nice!! Thank you for that link Rokie!

Majority of my fish seem to actually enjoy the VT flow, except the small baby cowfish and my genius purple tang that keeps insisting on picking at the algae that's growing on the VT intake...:D

When I was cycling mine on and off for a while, I looked up one day and there was my longnose hawk peeking out of one. I about died!!

:lol
