MP10 or 40?

I have a Red Sea max 170. I went to there calculator and they tell me the mp10 will not work because glass too thick, is this true?

I just got some SPS for my tank and want a good pump.

According to some quick looking at Bulk Reef Supply, the MP10 max glass thickness is 3/8", which is the same thickness of the tank.

You might want to call or email Ecotech. If the glass is too thick, the magnets won't work...they'll either fall off or the wet side won't spin.

Get the MP40, the MP10 is at glass thickness max like mentioned above and will need to be at 100% all the time and still probably won't be enough flow

Well wondering if I should go with the MP40 or the one that Neptune sells? Since I have an apex the only way to control this through that is with another module.

I can't speak to the Neptune quality or customer service, but I have had Vortechs for the past 9 years without a issue

And from my own experience Neptune wavs are great pumps but...
Hit and miss with longevity mine went within a week of each other after 18 months
Big flow loss now using gyres mix your equipment never rely on one brand alone

I have an MP40 master on the left side of my tank and an MP10 slave on the right. My fish and inverts have been doing beautifully.
