mp20 question

I received the mp20 in the mail and after inspection and setup i noticed the grommet had fell into the inside of the wave driver box and it has the exposed wiring (though not bare wiring) from the sleeve protruding out. How do i remove the cover of the wave driver box to fix the grommet?

Also, how noisy are these pumps supposed to be? Any decibel ratings? I can hear the pump ramping up and down from across the room, most of the noise seems to be coming from the dry motor side of the pump, is this normal? I tried moving it around a little but no luck, the pump has been setup for about 2 days now. Any tips?

thanks in advance.

fast94n,

We had a few pumps where this grommet was not installed properly. Fortunately the solution is very simply, just push the grommet back over the cord and into the box's slot. You do not need to open the driver box, but if you want to to make installation easier you can unsnap the box by using a thin screw driver in between the two halves right where the clasp is.

Noise level for an MP40w at high speed is 25db. An MP20 should be significantly below that. When the pump is ramping you will certainly hear it, but it shouldn't be an obnoxiously loud noise. Of course this will also depend on your sensitivity to noise and the background noise level of your aquarium.
