MP40 on Red Sea 130

Good morning all, I'm in need of a new powerhead. I have a Red Sea Max 130 and plan on upgrading to a new Red Sea Reefer 250 or 350 within the next few months. Just wondering if I purchase a Mp40QD now could I run it at its lowest setting on my Red Sea 130 without blowing my sand everywhere? Thanks
