I have 2 mp 40's to set up on a 90G tank (48 x 24 x 18) with a left back corner overflow. Both pumps are 4" from the surface of the water. The position of the left mp40 is dictated by the overflow (centerline of the pump is about 5.75" from the front glass) This nearly centers it on the available glass on that side. (The overflow box takes up aprox 8.5"). There is no rock work obstructing flow, so I am comfortable with the placement.
3 questions:
1) should I place the right mp40 directly opposite the left or should I center it on the right side glass? (i.e. 9" from the front) There is no rock work at the pump height so that is not a factor.
2) the wet side has a slotted grill with a solid section. Should the solid section be orientated up or down (or does it matter?) should the wet side of both pumps be orientated the same?
3) based on your recommendations for question 1. Which pump should I designate as master?
Thanks!!
