Mp40 question

I just picked up another mp40 from a buddy of mine, But the power supply seams to be bad. Is there anywhere I can buy just the power supply or is there a universal one I can pick up that will work?

Any 24v DC PS from amazon with the correct connector and amperage will work fine. I got a 24v 4.5 AMP supply for like $25 that could theoretically power all my DC pumps.

Portsie, the power supply is $50 on their website, looking for a cheaper replacement. Cambo and Nole thanks I'll look on amazon. I had been looking for the ecotech supply but nothing ever came up, I'll search for a 24v supply.

I'm looking on amazon I see plenty of 24v power supplies, what amperage do i need? I believe the ecotech is 3.5v, can i go over or under that?

As long as it is rated at or above the max amperage the driver can pull...you will be fine. Remember a PS acts a lot like a battery. It will provide up to the max amperage at the rated voltage but will not be doing it all the time. This depends on the resistance from the driver/motor combo...ie what speed the motor is turning.

So if the ecotech mp40 uses a 24v..3.5A supply you can use an 24v power supply with a rating of 3.5A or larger. Likewise, you could power two mp40's off one 24..7A supply.

This is actually something I would like to do for future tanks, if there are 4 large pumps split between 2 power supplies you can save a few outlets.
